It took me a while to really get into Reverend Bizarre, but **** me are they an awesome trad doom band. Crushing riffs, tongue-in-cheek subject matter, awesome but fun vocals, ludicrously long song lengths, hella atmosphere, and other bitchin' **** are to be expected from any of their releases, so get in on that. Now. And bang your ****in' head!

Reverend Bizarre were probably the first Sabbath-worshipping doom metal band I discovered. They struck the right balance between being accessible and being metal as fuck. It's a shame they split up.

You should check out Lord Vicar. They have the guitarist from Reverend Bizarre and very similar riffs. Not quite as good but still very sweet and they still have some of that vibe.
