what difference does it make? Album or band or song or whatever, even just the 4 extra key strokes it takes to type "music" will get you there, literally the first and top results. Considering Kalmah have nothing to do with math/metalcore or anything at all that's been said in this entire thread. Either way, while I won't be mad if Converge wins I'm still pulling for either Nostromo or Deadguy. Tim Singer from Deadguy is a ****ing monster of a vocalist.

And Jane Doe too. But they keep it kickass, though my opinion of Converge in general isn't quite what it once was now that I've listened to a lot more metalcore. Not saying they're not creative as ****, but I just don't listen to them all that much anymore.

yeah that's fair i guess. i like me some raw ass metalcore but for the most part i'm partial to the cool mathy adventurous ****.

and when they can come together in the way that converge does it, oh baby.

That's why I dig Deadguy. Angular and off-the-wall, but never less than savage.

they've got some pretty dank tunes. Fixation may have the worst album artwork in the entire history of metalcore though, god damn that **** is hideous.

I kinda love that cover. It makes no sense but it's somehow distinctive and I'll never forget it. The logo with the electron **** around it is fun, the pointless flames are just so 90s hardcore, and the dude with the hat staring off to the side is delightfully goofy. And it all doesn't come together in a way that thrusts itself at you.

And if you think that's the worst then you ain't seen ****. The late-90s seems to have been a hotbed of dudes just figuring out that they could fiddle around with art on a computer.

nah man it's definitely among the worst. i guess it works if you're into embarrassingly horrible covers, but if the album didn't have such a good reputation i would have probably never listened to it going off of the album cover alone.

it's mathcore ***s, i didn't mean it in a bad way. honestly i feel like i'm having my eardrums ravaged and torn apart and even tho there are some pretty wanky moments it's just so brutal that i don't care. probably going to need to listen to all of these albums again to decide.

Same with Psyopus, except they don't really go all that hard. They're just fun and goofy.

that's the only album i have left to listen to but yeah, i still can't decide. i need to listen to that botch album again too because it's been a minute since i have. the only ones that are going for sure are Coalesce and Genghis Tron

The only ones I feel like are going to be hard to vote for are Deadguy, Nostromo, Converge, Ion Dissonance, and Psyopus. I feel weird saying that about the last too though, since I generally have no love for wank and those two albums are wanky as ****.

I've only listened to a little over half that album once. Enough to know I actually dig it somewhat, but why the actual hate?

I don't hate it, I just think it fails to live up to anything else that's on this list. We're talking about the best mathcore album ever but they're just okay.
