Melodic Death band Disarmonia Mundi has some cool stuff. Incredibly fast and technical, although not always as impressive as many other acts.

One-man Italian band Plastic Mind Frequencies gets my top vote. His full instrumental release from a couple years ago:

Don't know if they have been mentioned yet, but Mastercastle is pretty much one of my all time favourite bands:

Heavy Metal. Very melodic. Love the vocals. The thick accent is only a plus

This is another band that I didn't know until now. Many Italian bands are more famous abroad than in Italy!

Through the guitarist - Pier Gonella - the band is connected to Labyrinth and Necrodeath. I think those two bands are somewhat more well know internationally than Mastercastle. Even abroad, it seems they are very below the radar.

Yes, you're right. I can understand if some bands are not famous and known abroad, it is also normal, but there are some of them here, like Airborn, Marshall and Ver Sacrum, that are impossible to find on Internet also here in Italy. I saw them at the Agglutination Metal Fest in my region, but if you want to search them on internet, it is very very difficult to find them.
