I'd say Warrior Soul. I strongly recommend any of their first three albums:
'Last Decade Dead Century' (1990) 'Drugs, God, and the New Republic' (1991) 'Salutations From The Ghetto Nation'- (1992) Arguably the most provocative American hard rock band of the 90s that seemingly nobody has ever heard of. These albums still sound great today. They deserve to be heard by future generations of rock fans everywhere (). |

They were pop rock, esp. in the 90s', so does Nirvana. They were both rock pop untill they got killed in the early 90s. Basically, Rock, Metal or Grunge, whatever you call IT.

First, it's "pop rock." That's literally the offical term and I have never heard "rock pop" or thought it until now. Second, there's a fine distinction between pop music and rock music. "Pop rock" is Fleetwood Mac, Beatles, Elton John, Supertramp, David Bowie, The Smiths, etc. In terms of popularity, they are pop. But then if a death metal artist obtained the same popularity as GNR, then they would by that logic be pop as well. GNR were a bit too hard to be considered pop rock, especially when compared to the primary examples.
