Not at the expense of any of those other albums, no.

OK, forget my last post. Apparently, my find function got messed up, and I couldn't find the jazz-rock section. Now I'm a little annoyed I missed that.

Oh ****, we need to have one list for Jazz-Rock/Jazz Fusion, I didn't realize we already have a jazz fusion list. I will delete the Jazz-Rock list entirely, so anyone who wants to suggest changes the Jazz Fusion list.

No. They are two different things. Jazz-Fusion is more pop/soul/funk influenced and more experimental. Can you really put albums like Aja in with Head Hunters?
EDIT: And to be honest, I was seriously looking forward to both rounds. If we're having two arema rock rounds, I see no reason to delete one or the other. Both lists carry essential rock groups and have different sounds. Jazz-Fusion doesn't sound a thing like jazz-rock practitioners like Steely or Chicago.

I would also agree that jazz rock and fusion are different, but I couldn't really tell you what that difference is.

Basically, jazz-fusion has a more light-hearted/poppy tone and has some R&B influence, but it still has a lot of jazz structures. Jazz-Rock is basically rock with some jazzy moments and are mostly based on rock structures. Jazz Fusion tracks are more jazz than anything, so like most jazz albums, jazz-fusion tracks are mostly instrumental. Jazz-rock bands usually have lead singers, so the tracks are more like radio hits.

I stopped reading at poppy because that's ridiculous. Go listen to Bitches Brew.

To be fair, I felt a blend of soul and a little pop in other jazz fusion albums. Plus, BB is also avant-garde jazz, which doesn't blend well with pop. Bitches Brew is far more experimental than other jazz-fusion albums I've heard.
I meant it was a litle poppier in tone than jazz rock, not in genre classifications.
