And I have always been neutral about these guys. Kind of like songs here and there, never could actually consider them very good, maybe just this overblown mediocre band somehow pegged as this pioneering band of a genre ripe with industrial influence. I think if they had hit the scene maybe ten years later than they did. Then the band wouldn't be so renowned or regarded in such a positive way by so many. Let's be honest though. Not the first mediocre act to get lucky and have a so far successful 20+ year run.

I mean. Linkin Park anyone? Not a 20+ year band but getting there.
Pretty much. They're a heavier, less terrible version of Rob Zombie, and since most of us on MB don't particularly like Rob Zombie, that generally means we don't like them much better.

I give their first album a pass though, since it actually shows some connection with industrial metal, rather than just lame metal with lame electronica thrown in. The riff from "Rammstein" alone has pretty much saved me from the kind of knee-jerk contempt felt by my fellow forum members.

Sometimes monotone vocals work. Sometimes they're annoying. That was annoying. Great riffing though.

Welcome to the Internet.

Either way, Rammstein sucks in both the digital and physical worlds.

I'm probably the closest to a fan here, and I still only rep the debut. After that I wash my hands of the band except for a few songs here and there.

I'm actually surprised by all the hate in this thread. They're certainly above tier in the industrial metal world and are pioneers in the nu deutsche harte genre, despite not being the first popular band to do so.

How can anyone say this is a bad song?

Again, great riffing but terrible vocals.

Pretty easily since it's a boring-as-**** song. I don't know who told Rammstein they could do ballads, but that person was obviously trolling them.
