I've always been a fan of Sweet, and it's a shame that they're only really known as a "one-hit wonder". 'The Man With the Golden Arm' from Desolation Boulevard is so good. I always love it when swing and big band combines with rock and metal.

I think their metal creds are usually forgotten about too, 'Set Me Free' and 'Sweet F.A.' are pure 70's metal.

^^ Sweet is excellent. I have more of a history with Mott, though, albeit their earlier albums like Mad Shadows.

I really need to listen to more of the Sweet. They've had some fun songs and I'm all about the ****ing fun but I've been lazy. If Nikki Sixx sucks their cocks then they're probably worth my time.

It's pathetic how much the poll isn't even a competition.

I'd say the Dolls.

However, Bowie remains the most important... historically speaking. Rightly so I might add.

I don't know man, it's hard to beat a guy in a tutu wearing mouse ears and a drummer with really big sticks and a cape:
