Bowie is the no-brainer, but he ditched the glam scene after diamond dogs. Second choice is Roxy Music, but I see them more of an art rock band/prog-band. The Dolls...what can you say about the Dolls other than they were great. Too Much Too Soon is one of my favorite records of all time. Not with standing all of this, I still voted for Mott the Hoople, which is the band I have the biggest soft spot for.
