There's a lot of Slayer that I hold in high regard but I'm really struggling with finding the second best album, RiB is so far superior in my estimation. I know it isn't SitA, I love War Ensemble but I don't like the production.

As much as I like South of Heaven (the album), I've got to go with the original opinion that it is a pussification of their Reign in Blood sound. They managed to do good things with "Spill the Blood", and had some good **** over the course of the album, but in general the band just didn't have the creativity to go from the brutality of RiB to the melodicism of SoH in just one album. It took Seasons in the Abyss to really get it right.
