Queen Kwong
These guys are probably more suited for the Alternative sub-forum. But to my ear they're much more Rock than Alternative.
So what are Queen Kwong? Punk/Rock/Alternative/Metal somehow is in that mix but not in your traditional kind of way. Batty is nuts about Ke$ha. But I am much more fond of Queen Kwong. Queen Kwong is essentially just one woman with a backing band (think in the likes of NIN's Trent Reznor) and how Ke$ha tries coming off edgy and gritty, I think Queen Kwong succeeds more often in pulling off. The way that Carré Callaway delivers her vocals for me was interesting and fun, different in a sense too. Cold Daggers, Purrfiction showcases that pretty well, maybe add Red Devil in there or Bells On. Overall I found the album to be a nice random find for 2015. Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit does the guitar work here. So that alone was enough for me to get interested back in mid 2015 for this project. Anyone else gave Queen Kwong a listen? |

She's just got so much anger and venom in her words. Look at her up there. The 3:24 mark and onward just f*cking gets me. So damn awesome. And yes that is Wes Borland from Limp Bizkit on guitar. Technically Queen Kwong is her and Wes. This second one is a mini-doc about her, the music. She's legitimate and I respect the hell out of her.
