They were ignored for the most part by the general public early on, for many reasons- they never had big hits, commercial songs, they weren't pretty, they played a style of music that had negative connotations to it, etc- but as their career lengthened, they became more appreciated by a wider volume of people. All I'm saying, like you, is that popularity does not equate quality, talent or technical excellence. I'm saying the cream has a better chance for a long career than the milk, albeit in a less financially successful fashion.
I think that there's cream all over the place. Some of the cream rises to the top of the...cup? and stays there for a while and gets thicker over time. Some of the cream never even gets into the cup but is left all over the counter until someone finds the guy making that cream dead in his apartment. A lot of the cream stays right in the middle.

Kevin Gilbert was never popular. That was the point.

GNR sucking or not is an opinion much more than it is a fact.

<<< In this guys book.

I'd rather see that 'solo' thing Slash has going on with the amazing Myles Kennedy than see this partial classic GNR lineup reunion.

I wonder if someone maybe threatened Axl Rose in order for this reunion to happen. I don't think Axl would agree with this volunteering at all. He and Slash are not friends as of speaking today. They were once best buddies but now they hate each other. I wonder how this even became a scenario. It does not smell right to me.
