Spreading The Disease Turns 30 Today
Today, October 30th, marks the 30th anniversary of the release of Anthrax's Spreading The Disease album. With tracks such as Medusa, Lone Justice, and A.I.R. this album is easily my favorite of the Anthrax catalog.
Anthrax will be releasing a 30th anniversary edition of the album - but not until November 20th... Scott Ian: Quote:

Been listening to this a lot. It's one of my favorite albums from this time and I know it's popular but I didn't expect a reissue.
It's got the same problem as all reissues of albums like this -- kinda pointless, in some cases ruined songs. But it also has the same big strength: access to better production than was available to the music at the time. Results vary. Of course extra **** that fans crave is there. Mostly live stuff which is, to me, not very interesting. One item I found very interesting is the Medusa "Joey Belladonna demo" which I haven't researched but I listen to as if it's a singer audition. Like all 80s vocal demos it sounds weird and embarrassing but it seems like a glimpse into what Anthrax wanted to sound like in 1984, which is something that has always interested me, and probably why I love this band so much, which is a different story. Overall pretty great. Makes me happy.
