besides, I was kind of hoping I'd fit Hysteria in 80's arena rock. all of their music is born for the arena, not that that's a good or bad thing.
All the AOR I'd select would be from its glory years late 70s to mid 80s, anything post that would be in another battle if there were to be one, btw Anteater is kind of like the resident newer AOR expert around here and has loads of great modern day AOR recs, also Trollheart is pretty useful as well.

No I haven't heard Bat II but Meat Loaf should get in either a concept/opera cat or an arena one.

Overall the three talked about cats should be:

AOR- supplied by me
Arena- supplied by JC (could include some AOR like Boston and Journey etc as well and could certainly fit Def Leppard)
Concept/Opera- As one or two cats depends.

Bat II isn't much of a concept album. It's just a sequel album, and it has no story. It does have a signature sound to it: wagnerian rock, as Steinman calls it.

You shouldn't have said that, now there's even less chance of Meat Loaf fitting a category.

Less chance of that album. I don't care much if Bat II doesn't get in, but that album isn't the same album as Bat 1. Why does Bat II's status in the series affect Bat 1? Or did you simply mean the album? When you phrase it as "meat loaf," it makes it sound lie you are speaking for the whole artist.

If you guys keep adding irrelevant sub-genres, there will be actual years of voting. I like voting on things too, but this is getting a little ridiculous. Maybe start a different survivor or listing/voting thread for 'best *enter sub-sub-genre here* album?' instead of bogging down this process. Just my two cents.

Also for wild card I add

I'd figure stuff like Pennywise and junk for a melodic hardcore list

I agree that decades should stay out of this.

Changelog:

- Added Ska/2-Tone
- Put up Wild Card list.

I went ahead and just threw up the Wild Card list, as it seems not many want to follow your formula, Tristan. Also, I pretty much agree with everything said above, except for FaSho's idea, because it would be much better if this all stayed in one place, rather than cluttering up the entire sub-forum.

So that means we'll have one arena rock list? Who's making it?
