I kinda focused on third wave ska. I always saw 2 Tone as closer to the original, and I thought we were making a ska list too. Go ahead and make one of those if you want, but focus more on 2 Tone.
Was 2 Tone really big enough to warrant its own thing? As far as I know it was just a few bands on one record label.

Folk Punk

Andrew Jackson Jihad- People That Can Eat Other People Are the Luckiest People in the World
Against Me!- Gender Dysphoria Blues
Chuck Ragan- Gold Country
Violent Femmes- Violent Femmes
The Pogues- If I Should Fall From Grace With God
Dropkick Murphys- The Meanest of Times
Flogging Molly- Drunken Lullabies
Cousin Boneless- Trash Masquerade
The Front Bottoms- The Front Bottoms
Titus Adronicus- The Monitor
Violent Femmes is good, but come on, Hallowed Ground is just the ever-loving ****. And what about Meat Puppets II?

And I guess for melodic hardcore -- although I'm not really a hardcore guy, but someone might as well get the ball rolling...

1. Bad Religion - Suffer
2. The Descendents - Milo Goes to College
3. H2O - F.T.T.W.
4. Gorilla Biscuits - Start Today
5. The Adolescents - The Adolescents

Aaaand somebody else who knows more about that **** should finish it.

God, you're so high maintennance.

Folk Punk

Andrew Jackson Jihad- People That Can Eat Other People Are the Luckiest People in the World
Against Me!- Gender Dysphoria Blues
Chuck Ragan- Gold Country
Violent Femmes- Hollowed Ground
The Pogues- If I Should Fall From Grace With God
Dropkick Murphys- The Meanest of Times
Meat Puppets- II
Cousin Boneless- Trash Masquerade
The Front Bottoms- The Front Bottoms
Titus Adronicus- The Monitor

Totally forgot about Meat Puppets actually. And keep in mind I haven't heard a few full albums from what I'm posting, as weird as that sounds. Some of them I'm just pulling from RYM top albums for the respected genre.

Some of your melodic hardcore bands are already in other lists too but I'll try my hardest.

Melodic Hardcore

1. Bad Religion - Suffer
2. Descendents - Milo Goes to College
3. H2O - F.T.T.W.
4. Gorilla Biscuits - Start Today
5. The Adolescents - The Adolescents
6. 88 Fingers Louie- Back on the Streets
7. The Flatliners- Cavalcade
8. The Falcon- Unicornography
9. Propagandhi- Potemkin City Limits
10. Strike Anywhere- Change is a Sound

Propagandhi's winning that battle btw. No challenge there.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

I did the same thing many times for my thread. Sometimes to make a decision on including one album I was already familiar with over another, but plenty of times cause I just didn't know much about a sub-genre. No shame in it.

And it's Hallowed Ground.

I was hoping to clear up some space in hardcore anyway.

Over Bad Religion?

Have you heard Potemkin City Limits? Dude, that album is in a category of it's own. It's almost unfair to include it among those other albums, as good as they are. Propagandhi just stroke gold with that release.

Changelog:

- Added Folk Punk.
- Made the swap on Post-Hardcore.
- Added Melodic Hardcore.

@Troll- The artist shouldn't have complete liberty in labeling their work as one thing or another. The Ramones couldn't have started labeling their music prog rock and expect people to just go with it.

@Violent Femmes- If you want, Batty, we can put Hallowed Ground on the Wild Card list under your name.

Oh, and...

Copy and paste your wild card choices into this. One per person.

Wild Card

1. Def Leppard - Pyromania (Jguy Grungeman)
2. Whatever Brains - __LP (Tristan Geoff)
3. Radiohead - The Bends (TechnicLePanther)

I swapped the VF albums out when I revised the list so no need.

Well I don't mind doing 10 albums again for AOR, but it will be no good if some of the albums then get dumped out to fit in the likes of Def Leppard and nowhere to live Meat Loaf

AOR should be for AOR and nobody else, I know that sounds like a fascist remark but there you go.

Have you heard Bat II? That's very AOR. It takes somewhat of a turn around from the first, and the third is kind of nu metal. Still, I agree that there are better representative albums of the genre. Hard to find better albums, but I'd say some albums I find worse than Bat 2 do a better job representing the scene, since it came late.

besides, I was kind of hoping I'd fit Hysteria in 80's arena rock. all of their music is born for the arena, not that that's a good or bad thing.

Ska/2 Tone

1. The Specials- Specials
2. The Beat- I Just Can't Stop It
3. Madness- One Step Beyond...
4. The Selector- Too Much Pressure
5. Bad Manners- Ska n B
6. Toots and the Maytals- Sweet and Dandy
7. The Skatalites- Ska-Boo-Da-Ba
8. Prince Buster- I Feel the Spirit
9. The Wailing Wailers- The Wailing Wailers
10. The Soul Brothers- Hot Shot

It's probably worthy to note that ska isn't a rock sub-genre, rather hailing more to R&B and Carribean music, but it's lasting impact on rock music, through reggae rock, the next two waves of ska, and dub, should prove it worthy enough for includion here. 2 Tone is closer to rock, being a mix between ska, punk, and early new wave. I also really wanted to include Costello but I don't think he has any 2 Tome songs oter than "Watching the Detectives".
