Actually, I was thinking of a power pop one earlier.

Let's see, for alt rock we'd have to find a replacement for The Replacements.

1. The Replacements - Tim
2. Weezer - Pinkerton
3. Big Star - 3rd
4. The Jam - All Mod Cons
5. Cheap Trick - At Budokan (replaced on the other list by Toto)
6. Todd Rundgren - Something / Anything?
7. Teenage Fanclub - Grand Prix
8. Squeeze - Argybargy
9. Badfinger - Straight Up
10. Sloan - Navy Blues

Forgive the original Clour Haze addition. That was a bad.

Give me a minute to put together a space rock one.

What do you think?

Good to see a Squeeze album on 'a' list, I'm a big fan of Argybargy....... I think I'm go go.

I'd be, so long as there is enough trashy dance pop. I'm sure we can justify enough sub-genres to have at least two or three lists.

Agreed.

I don't know if there's a rule hereabouts concerning live albums, but Cheap Trick's Heaven Tonight might make more sense.

In Color is considered their 'power pop' masterpiece, yet the albums either side of it Cheap Trick and Heaven Tonight are often considered better albums, so work that one out

I'll just make a decision based on what's currently happening. I may try different strategies for different rounds. I'm thinking maybe we could take a vote on the first one, and really any subsequent ones. I do want to mix it up a bit though, so I don't just want to go in order from most exciting to least exciting. That would start to slog towards the end.

EDIT: So we're keeping punk in the rock survivor?
Oh ****, really sorry Unknown. Here's his two lists:

I spoke with Anteater who has an even wider knowledge of AOR than me and he suggested 2 lists. The first which is here is 'an acclaimed' AOR list where the material is still relevant today and was provided by Anteater.

Work Of Art - In Progress
Harem Scarem - Mood Swings
Dakota - Runaway
Planet 3 - Music From The Planet
Strangeways - Native Sons
Rush - Moving Pictures
Journey - Frontiers
Shy - Shy
Eclipse - Bleed & Scream
Toto - The Seventh One

This is as classic AOR list that most will be more familiar with and expect, and was provided by myself and Anteater from its glory years of the late 70s and 1980s.

Styx - The Grand Illusion
Boston - Boston
Foreigner - 4
Journey - Escape
Survivor - Vital Signs
Mr. Mister - Welcome To The Real World
Toto - IV
Rush - Grace Under Pressure
Bad English - Bad English
REO Speedwagon - High Infedilty

Would somebody be interested in helping to create a bastard child of the three lists we have?

Seems to have consensus, so putting it up. Replacements replaced with Muse - Origin of Symmetry. And of course, Cheap Trick was replaced with Toto.

Cool, putting it up.

I've never heard of Mr Miuster or Bad English. And I don't think Survivor has enough hits to get on. Bat II has five hit singles. Notice the word hit. I misspoke when I said 20 million copies sold. It's 13 million, but that's really high. Not to mention, five hit singles. Anything for Love, Life is a Lemon and I Want My Money Back, Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through, Objects in the Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer than They Are", and Good Girls Go to Heaven. Two of the music videos for these singles were directed by Michael Bay.
Plus, Def Leppard's Hysteria sold 20 million, and we have no other Def Leppard albums in the lists. I'd at least like these two to get in. I don't care much about the rest.

But, I'll see what I can do about that child list.

1. Toto - The Seventh One
2. Journey – Escape or Frontiers
3. Boston – Boston
4. Styx – The Grand Illusion
5. Strangeways – Native Sons
6. Def Leppard – Hysteria
7. Meat Loaf – Bat Out of Hell II
8. Rush – Moving Pictures
9. Foreigner – 4
10. REO Speedwagon - High Infedilty

I kept the majority of votes from all three, 2 or more for the same band, and I put in my 2 cent (or two albums).

As far as knocking of Heart goes, we should include Heart somewhere, so can we implement Dreamboat Annie in the folk rock list? I'm still kind of against Joni Mitchell in the list...
