I think Nirvana is quite overrated. Still, their main discography is pretty impressive. I couldn't give a Nirvana album 10/10, but their rhythms and production levels are top notch. Butch Vig and Steve Albini did great jobs.
I love nirvana. One of my all time faves. Only Nirvana songs I don't like is none. Never heard one I don't like. Love the lyrics, instrumentals, singing, and everything else.

Nevermind is likely one of the albums I've heard the most. It took me a while to give it 9/10. Not my top choice for the grunge list, but it's more than likely to win. My top choice on that list would be Superfuzz. When grunge was starting out, it was getting in its prime. m It took a little while to get out of it, but there were still occasional prime albums after '91, like Superunknown.

Nevermind would be my number 4. Anyway, the grunge list is one of the only ones I've heard everything from.

The best grunge is Melvins.

As far as the grunge list goes, I think in Utero would be better. I think it just shows Nirvana's musicality better than anything else. But as far as the grunge list goes I would want Badmotorfinger. As much as I love nevermind, I think Badmotorfinger is just a better album. Songs like Outshined and Jesus Christ Pose are quintessential grunge music. I think that is soundgardens best album. A few bands I don't know on the list like tad. I'll have to check them out.

After Queens Of The Stone Age, they're the second best.

Except that sludge wasn't a thing before them. If they're sludge it's because they invented it. Saying that they can't be grunge cause they're sludge is just revisionism.
