Manowar or Maiden?
Let's do this just to annoy Batty. Vote and show him how inferior his favourite band is to a true metal icon... :thumb: ;)
|
|
I've never really listened to Man O Dork, so I can't compare the two. If Batfart wants to throw what he considers their best out there, I'll have a listen and post my thoughts.

Vote: Slayer
|
The only Man-O-Bore song I've heard was Warriors of the World or something ("Warriors everywhere, raise your hands into the air"?). I wouldn't mind it if Flatboard gave us some highlights, though. I'll hold my vote until I can better compare the two.

The intro is poorly done, and sounds like he needs to tune his guitar, or he's using a cheap guitar with bad intonation. Now, the weak drums kick in, with a poor attempt at double bass trills. When the main riff starts, I can already tell there will be much pomp. I hate pomp. Trying to be all glorious, and majestic is really kind of silly. Dream Theater does this quite a bit, as does Dragonforce. The vocals are laughable. Just... is this all a joke? I'm not even gonna to continue. If this type of music takes you to your happy place, then more power to ya. For me, it's pretty lame. |
Tore likes Manowar. I officially win. And if Tore wants cheese...
|
Thanks Bats Waller.
I don't listen to much metal these days, but .. if cheesy, lame ass metal is a joke, then I wanna be in on it. There's something delightfully uncompromising about someone dressing up like a beef jerky spandex warrior from a B movie cover and singing songs about dragons at the top of their lungs. It's daring to loudly love something which most people think is retarded, like a grown man declaring his love for D&D x100. The kid in me thinks that D&D and dragons and warriors and shit rules and it's a part of me that I treasure. |
I played D&D well into my 20's. I still think it's great. Man O War and dressing up like a spandex what ever you wanna call it, not so much.

So you committed a blatant logical fallacy in the other thread, multiple times I might add, and now you're trying to save face by starting a discussion in another thread? Sad.

Your entire argument is based on logical fallacies so easy to recognize and tear down that I don't even know why I have to point them out. You lost the minute you tried mentioned Maiden's popularity. |
Anal beads imo

You lost the moment you made your Manowar thread. You are now floundering. The end.

Manowar sucks but so do fallacies. Tsk tsk Trollheart.

I'd have a hard time picking between the two if Manowar wasn't so horrible and Maiden wasn't so awesome.

Up the Irons!
