Honestly? I had a lot written, more to write, but could see time being --- I don't want to say wasted but certainly time I could use in a more profitable manner, given all the work I had to do --- frittered away maybe. I felt if I could pull back from the forum, drop any other commitments then I could just concentrate on Metal Month III. And I had a lot of ideas, and more new ones coming all the time. I was relatively well caught up on it, but I knew there was a lot more I could do, and wanted to do. That's more or less why I took the break.

And it worked really well. I may do the same next year. Or I may just start writing earlier. It's hard to have all these ideas in your head but be working to a deadline. I knew I could still be writing during October, but I wanted if possible to have as much as I could completed, so that it was just a case of slotting sections in each day, which is now how I have it. Everything is planned out, day by day, everything is written (other than a few little things: The Torture Chamber, October's new albums, that kind of thing) and I have time to, if I want, think of and add other sections as we go along. Though there's probably more than enough as it stands.
