Let's get all proggy!
Camel --- Long goodbyes (3:35)

versus
Arena --- Solomon (11:50)

Two of the worst songs I've ever heard. I'm passing on this one.

Camel - Long goodbyes @3:50: The chord structure on this is very powerful, yet the solo over it is quite generic. If you like a less is more approach then this is for you, other than that it's quite forgettable.

Arena - Solomon @11:50: Pretty sure you meant 12:50. At least there's some pinch harmonics in this one. Another less-is-more emotional approach. Meh. This one tips the scales with the pinchers.

Camel - 0
Arena - 1

Wow! That's harsh man.
Can I just remind you, and everyone else, that it's the solo to be judged and not the song? You might not like the song but please try to concentrate on whether or not the solo is good. That's why it's called "Solo Wars".

Both solos are pretty horrible too. Sitting this one out.

Arena 2
Camel 0

Wasn't feeling either solo. Very tame approach. Pinch harmonics are the wave of the future? No not really.

Well since everyone seems to hate my selections (I hate you all!) let's call it for Arena. Yay. And move on. Next up is Epoch...

**** sorry for dropping the ball on this thread guys. It has been a busy week. I won't have any time within the next 10 hours to really choose a decent lineup (no speakers) so if Pet_Sounds wants to step up and keep the train rolling go ahead.
