Put your toys back into the pram. Nobody liked mine either.
If this goes nowhere or keeps getting votes for Elton, then Plankton you're next up. I expect great things...

Yngwie's faster, but Beat It is one of the best things that EVH has ever done. This is better than most of his work though, I must say. Still just a tad bit masturbatory for my taste without it being free jazz.

As David Lee Roth once famously said about EVH's Beat It solo: (paraphrase) "What's so special about the Beat It solo? He's been playing the same damn solo in our songs for years."

EVH 2
YM 1 I like EVH'S gymnastic solos better then Yngwe. Standard tapping and pentatonic runs in both and both are great guitarist by every stretch of the imagination. EVH just sounds slightly more organic then Yngwe.

Yeah I don't care: I like Yngwie. That neoclassical tilt he puts on his playing (shut up Batty) whereas Van Halen's really only stands out in that song because it's unexpected, being a pop not a rock song. Put it in any other rock or metal song, and meh. It's ok but nothing special.

We post two solos and ask people to choose which is the better. Also, you need to take your turn on the list if you want to join, which you'd be welcome to do, providing you understand and play by the rules.
