Slipknot's first album is alright. Avenged Sevenfold kinda just sucks though.

Ahab should be on the 1001 list though. This album specifically.

Kickass record - one of Priest's more underrated works. By no means their heaviest effort, but damn I just love the songs:

I get where you're coming from—Slipknot's debut has its moments, though it's definitely hit or miss for some. As for Avenged Sevenfold, I know they’re not everyone's cup of tea. Ahab’s album is a great pick for the 1001 list, though; it’s got that epic, atmospheric vibe that really stands out.
