I like the potential this thread but in order to keep the peace and come up with meaningful outcomes is anyone else in favour of having subcategories for:-
- Technical ability - Attitude/Stage presence - Contribution to the genre - Live performance / consistency ? |

It's just so meaningless. I mean it's pointless how many notes someone can sing if their music is bad. Like Urban said, you guys can keep talking about how great Freddie Mercury is, but he'd be terrible in the Fall, while Mark E. Smith, one of my favorite vocalists, would be terrible in Queen. The measure of how good a vocalist is has to do with how good they are combined with their music, it has nothing to do with so-called "technical ability".

Gotta agree with Sir. Always thought Axl's falsetto was terrible.
