I have listened to it. It's ****. I've actually enjoyed a Dream Theater album before, but this one isn't it.

Speaking of drone (from another thread), would Bees Made Honey in the Lion's Skull be a better album for Earth than Earth 2? Both seem to be held in equal esteem.

Voting off Deep Purple and BOC

I'm also down for the metalcore battle. Protest the Hero, especially that song, are terrific.

Alright, that's, what, four people in at least? And I'll make sure to bitch Dylstew and ContrivedNihilism into participating.

Oh, and I've ditched the funeral doom battle. A.) There didn't seem to be enough interest, and B.) other battles have had groups that are pretty varied, so I figured it didn't make enough sense to single out funeral doom.

So I've taken what I thought were the two best/most known and added them to the doom battle: Skepticism's Stormcrowfleet and Ahab's Call of the Wretched Sea. I also took off Sabbath's Master of Reality, as I figured they were adequately represented by Paranoid, and Type O Negative's Bloody Kisses, which has been added to the Wild Card battle -- don't know that it really qualifies as doom any way.

Doom is now as follows:

1. Electric Wizard - Dopethrone
2. Sleep - Dopesmoker
3. Skepticism - Stormcrowfleet
4. Candlemass - Epicus Doomicus Metallicus
5. diSEMBOWELMENT - Transcendence into the Peripheral
6. Katatonia - Brave Murder Day
7. Ahab - The Call of the Wretched Sea
8. Reverend Bizarre - In the Rectory of the Bizarre Reverend
9. My Dying Bride - The Angel and the Dark River
10. Celtic Frost - Monotheist

That doom list looks pretty good.

Except they weren't really a doom band by that point. Anyways, I've got Viva Emptiness on the Alternative Metal list.

Not for a drone metal battle, no. I think it's a better album but Bees Made Honey doesn't have any metal elements.
