I think that for the alternative metal battle, we should put Sexy Pee Story by Cows. Not sure what it should replace but I think it deserves a place on there.

I'm sure no one here gives a **** about Rage Against the Machine anyway.

Simple. Take the list of ten albums, vote off the four you like the least, and then in a couple days (or tonight by this point) I count all the votes and the album with the most gets the boot. Repeat until there's only one left. As we go along, the number of bands you vote for will decrease, but for now, we're doing four.

Gotcha. Proto metal not a huge part of my collection but here's my discounts then:

1. Black Sabbath - Paranoid
4. Judas Priest - Stained Class
5. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV
6. AC/DC - Back In Black

I guess you could throw rage out, I'd set my sights on Deftones though.

So those are the albums you want gone?

Afraid so; fantastic albums, but maybe it is more to do with my personal mental definition of proto metal more than anything.

I'll have more useful input in some of the other categories, I promise.

Well I let that round go on for far too long. There was a tie between UFO and AC/DC, and for those of you who don't know, in the case of a tie I look at whoever has more accumulated votes from past battles and use that as a tie breaker. Seeing as how this is the first round though, I can't do that, so I'm knocking them both off. Next round...

8. Flower Travellin' Band - Satori
7. Rainbow - Rising
6. Budgie - Never Turn Your Back On a Friend
5. Judas Priest - Stained Class
4. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV
3. Blue Oyster Cult - Secret Treaties
2. Deep Purple - Machine Head
1. Black Sabbath - Paranoid

Vote 4 off. Polls end on April 16.

Proto-Metal Battle Album Youtube Vids

Spoiler for Proto-Metal Battle Youtube Vids:
1. Black Sabbath - Paranoid

2. Deep Purple - Machine Head

3. Budgie - Never Turn Your Back On a Friend

4. Judas Priest - Stained Class

5. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV

6. AC/DC - Back In Black

7. Blue Oyster Cult - Secret Treaties

8. Rainbow - Rising

9. Flower Travellin' Band - Satori

10. UFO - Lights Out

Couldn't find a Youtube vid for the album, and Grooveshark was missing the first song (**** that, "Too Hot to Handle" is one of the best '70s rock songs ever recorded), so here's a download link.
