Oops. This one got away from me, but High On Fire are now gone. Why people think Leviathan is better than Death Is this Communion is beyond me. Final ****ing round. Winner goes on to the final battle in five years...

2. Acid Bath - When the Kite String Pops
1. Mastodon - Leviathan

Proto-Metal Battle Album Youtube Vids

Spoiler for Proto-Metal Battle Youtube Vids:
1. Black Sabbath - Paranoid

2. Deep Purple - Machine Head

3. Budgie - Never Turn Your Back On a Friend

4. Judas Priest - Stained Class

5. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV

6. AC/DC - Back In Black

7. Blue Oyster Cult - Secret Treaties

8. Rainbow - Rising

9. Flower Travellin' Band - Satori

10. UFO - Lights Out

Couldn't find a Youtube vid for the album, and Grooveshark was missing the first song (**** that, "Too Hot to Handle" is one of the best '70s rock songs ever recorded), so here's a download link.

Sigh. People have now voted off the best album on the list. Guess that leaves me to vote off:

Acid Bath

I think your reaction might be a little extreme considering they're already extinct.

Sorry Mastodon.

Also this has been a terrible thread. Everything I'd place at 1 got voted off early

Hey, I had to stomach Death winning the death metal battle, and you don't see me complaining... which is totally a lie. I'm pretty sure everyone who's voted in this thread has been disappointed by some band getting voted off. It's not our fault not everybody shares your taste.

I'm still plotting the murders of all those who voted off Boris.

Mastodon.

I can't believe they made it this far, Acid Bath too, but I suppose I'd rather place the crown on them. Proto-metal battle is gonna be vicious.
