One of the best on that list, though.

Morbid Angel was like the first death metal band that I loved and I don't wanna turn my back on them. Vader was the first one I listened to a lot but I liked MA better.

My man. Altars of Madness might be my top pick as well.

The people who voted off Bolt Thrower should be cast into a pit of fire. But anyway, I'm voting off:

Dismember
Obituary
Morbid Angel

Yes! Thank you Jansz. Now Suffocation will not be eliminated this round. That will give me a few days to fly to Norway, drag Briks out of school and strap him to a chair and force him to listen to all the death metal albums and participate in this thread.

Just a heads up, I've added folk metal, drone metal, funeral doom, and made some alterations to other battles. Drone and funeral doom only have five entries ATM. I might be able to bitch people into checking out some genres, but I imagine trying to get a bunch of chodes who haven't already listened to Sunn O))) or Skepticism to listen to ten albums in each of those categories might be unrealistic, so those will be shorter battles unless I decide otherwise. I might even shorten some other pre-existing battles that I don't think people will be all that into or know much about (like metalcore or avant garde). Additions and changes are bolded.

I'd say personally I'm way more likely to sit through a bunch of drone or avant garde metal than power metal or folk metal.

Hey... guys... you shouldn't vote off Effigy of the Forgotten. That's mean and stuff. And Wpnfire says so.

Sad to see Fantomas's debut gone from the list but The Director's Cut is great too; that'll probably give it more of a chance since I know people prefer that one.

Some drone metal recs:
6. Ramleh - Hole in the Heart
7. Nadja - Numbness
8. TEETH OF THE LIONS RULE THE DIVINE - Rampton
9. Khanate - Clean Hands Go Foul
10. Wolves In Sheepskin - Indecent Vibrations (oh ****)
11. Keiji Haino - Book of Eternity Set Aflame

And Monoliths & Dimensions is phenomenal, but I think that Black One is more fitting tbh. It's more consistently drone metal throughout while M&D has some parts where they just fall into straight drone like Alice. Food for thought, I'd be cool with either.
