For anyone who's interested, I looked at it this way: I love Maiden, but apart from Powerslave they have a good few other really good albums, whereas Dio really only had Holy diver and The last in line, so I feel he/they caught the spirit of metal at the time better than any other band, at that time, and deserve therefore to be crowned king of the trad metal division. Which obviously is not going to happen. But that's why I voted as I did.
Even though it hurt to betray Bruce and the boys...

Given the choice of the two to take to a desert island with me I'd go with Dio everytime.
So voting off Iron Maiden.

I'm gonna have to vote off Dio. No hate, but Powerslave is just too ****in awesome start to finish.
Also fun game took me too long to find this.

Also voting off Dio. Never liked the production on that album.

No, I've listened to every single one of them. I did a seven, maybe eight-part article on him for my journal a year or more back. I found the only ones after the first two I liked were Sacred heart, part of Dream evil then really little up to Magica and Killing the dragon. Angry machines was awful, his nadir I believe.

None of it was too heavy. Just not very good. Not Holy Diver good. I remember buying Sacred Heart and being not knocked out by it, then Dream evil I felt was very weak. I stopped buying Dio albums then, only picking back up for my article and what I heard, by and large, disappointed me. The fire was gone.
