I'm definitely replacing Arkangel. As much as I love that album, it's clearly a personal choice, and pretty obscure anyway. Still, I listened to your album a week or so ago and was unimpressed. Maybe with more listens I'll dig it more, but ATM not so much. I'd probably just rather throw Integrity in the mix instead. Even if I'm not that much of a fan, they're clearly influential enough to deserve a spot. Or maybe one of LOG's first two albums (Burn the Priest and New American Gospel). Nobody ever seems to call those albums metalcore, but they clearly are.

Maybe it's just because I really love that Norma Jean album. We're all biased.

still a landmark though

Looks like Motorhead got their wish, as they will live no longer. They tied with Saxon, but with a greater number of past votes they get the boot.

Next round...

5. Mercyful Fate - Don't Break the Oath
4. Saxon - Denim and Leather
3. Dio - Holy Diver
2. Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell
1. Iron Maiden - Powerslave

Vote 2 off. Polls end on February 12.

And with this battle half over, I'd just like to remind everybody that death metal is up next, and that anybody who hasn't listened to all the albums should check the OP for album links. Here they are for the lazy.

Death Metal Battle Album Links

Spoiler for Death Metal Battle Album Links:
