You don't know what nostalgia is, do you?

And you don't know what opinions and logical arguments are.

I don't understand why you're bringing nostalgia into it. I've been listening to Slayer's entire discography from the time they released God Hates Us All, bar Divine Intervention and Diabolus in Musica, since I was a teenager. I'm well versed in almost all of their discography. Seasons in the Abyss included.

Well it's awesome as hell to begin with and I have a long term relationship with the album. Same reason why you'd like something as awful as Motley Crue or Manowar.

So you're the one allowing nostalgia to affect your decision-making?

Yep. Hence the comment about how it's my first Slayer record.

Really hard decision for me to make. I relistened to both albums a couple of times. Jane Doe is brilliant and reveals more with multiple listens. But Arkangel also have more than meets the eye, especially all the subtle tempo changes where the band shift gear together just slightly. And as Batlord was alluding to, that amount of kickarseness is by no means an obvious thing to achieve, many have tried and failed. So it's with careful deliberation that I vote off:

Aghhh, hard choice. It'd be really cool to see Arkangel some how manage to pull out the win, and I love that album so much. With that being said, Converge is one of my favorite hardcore/metalcore bands, and Jane Doe is the crown jewel of their discography.
Arkangel.

I think that makes it a tie. Someone else vote off Converge already.
