Just FYI, if I haven't voted by tomorrow, just consider the deadline to have been extended till the 15th. I've got some serious listening and soul searching to do, and I'll be neither rushed nor skipped.

I absolutely love a lot of the poppier songs on Ire Works -- "Milk Lizard" is probably one of my favorite metal songs of all time -- but their mathcore songs are almost unlistenable at times. To me, Converge did what they did while remaining accessible, and still outdoing them in terms of brutality. Would love to see them live though, as I imagine it would be utter chaos, and I've heard they have exceptional showmanship. I heard one story of their vocalist climbing into the rafters of a venue during a song while still performing.

@Mondo
And I must say that I find it odd that you would vote off Zao in the first round, the band you described as your favorite metalcore band of all-time. I considered them for my last pick, but they're just too different and malevolent sounding for me to vote for them just yet.

If you want, keep considering, I extended the deadline to the 18th after realizing I only made the voting period a day or so.

Go ahead and extend it if necessary. I've already voted, and I don't know who else will be voting, so I don't know if it's necessary, and I wouldn't want people to lose interest due to thread inactivity. Wpnfire still needs to vote, so if he still doesn't vote after tomorrow I'll bitch at him via PM.

I'd prefer if you just voted for/against your favs/least liked, but if that's how you wanna vote then be my guest, I guess.
Oh, and I just suggested a list for powerviolence for the Rock Album Survivor thread, so feel free to add your two cents.

If I'm doing that than my only difference would be replacing Zao with Poison the Well, so...
Arkangel Poison the Well Misery Signals Unbroken In any case, Zao would be my favorite for multiple albums of high quality. Some of the albums on the list are better than theirs, and some of the bands have a small discog where Zao have five or six amazingly solid efforts back to back to back
