Oh, and need some help, Mondo, with that metalcore list. I made it before I had a clue and now I need to rebuild it from the ground up.

I love Rotten Sound, just think they'd be quickest to be replaced if needed, and your list was lacking Assuck, so...
My grindcore list would look like this, near the same: Assuck - Misery Index Discordance Axis - Jouhou Carcass - Reek of Putrefaction Repulsion - Horrified Terrorizer - World Downfall Napalm Death - From Enslavement to Obliteration Pig Destroyer - Prowler in the Yard Brutal Truth - Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses Agoraphobic Nosebleed - Frozen Corpse Stuffed With Dope Insect Warfare - World Extermination Let me get back to you on the metalcore one, though Converge, DEP, Earth Crisis, and Integrity should be on there. |

Honestly, I'm not really feeling you on Integrity. They're alright, but that vocalist is ****. Off the top of my head, this would be my list...
Converge - Jane Doe Earth Crisis - Destroy the Machines Dillinger Escape Plan - Ire Works Botch - We Are the Romans Arkangel - Dead Man Walking Between the Buried and Me - Colors Deadguy - Fixation On a Coworker Snapcase - Progression Through Unlearning Ringworm - Birth Is Pain Kiss It Goodbye - She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not...

Alright, here's what I think for metalcore.
1. The Dillinger Escape Plan - Calculating Infinity (their most 'metalcore' album though Ire Works could do) 2. Earth Crisis - Destroy the Machines 3. Integrity - Humanity is the Devil 4. Converge - Jane Doe 5. Ringworm - The Promise 6. Norma Jean - Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child 7. Botch - We Are the Romans 8. Misery Signals - Mirrors 9. Bloodlet - Entheogen 10. Snapcase - Progression Through Unlearning Ones I'd be quickest to replace are 8 and 9 |

Alright, I basically took Mondo's list for avant garde metal, took off Tryptikon (since I added Celtic Frost's Monotheist to doom metal, and they're basically the same band, with the same sound) to add Obscura, used Torture Garden by itself, and took off Mirrorthrone to add SunnO)))'s Black One. Anybody have anything else to add on avant garde metal?
1. maudlin of the Well - Bath 2. Celtic Frost - Into the Pandemonium 3. Gorguts - Obscura 4. SunO))) - Black One 5. Diabolical Masquerade - Nightwork 6. Sigh - Imaginary Sonicscape 7. Diablo Swing Orchestra - The Butcher's Ballroom 8. Mr. Bungle - Mr. Bungle 9. Fantomas - Fantomas 10. Naked City - Torture Garden Edit: Oh yeah, and the current vote stands at... 6 - SOD - Speak English or Die 5 - Anthrax - Among the Living 5 - Exodus - Bonded By Blood

It seems like Mondo Bondage has hijacked The Batfink's thread.

And I'm still iffy about Bungle being on there, but it's a great album so I'll let it slide.
