Default Slipknot - The Gray Chapter - THOUGHTS!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to get a discussion started about what people think of the newest Slipknot album.
I personally really like it; I don't think it's their best album, but there are some really great tracks and there's a good variety which I definitely like. I know a lot of people were complaining about there being too much clean vocals, but has that hype gone down a bit now?
Just want to know what everyone's thinking. Also, what are your favourite tracks on the album? At the moment (it changes regularly) my top three are: XIX, Skeptic, and The One That Kills the Least.

I listened to it, maybe three times all through...I can't say I was overly impressed with much of it, it was rather plain or mediocre to be honest. They're a mainstream Metal band with little originality to them. They band is comprised of more than capable musicians, but I've always had the opinion that they're just okay, I can stand to listen to them on occasion, and I've seen them live only once...good stage presence for sure, I enjoyed them live.

Anyway...yeah, mediocre album, and no, it is not because Joey got the boot from the band and is no longer their drummer. Slipknot has never put out an overly impressive album.

If I had to pick a favorite track out of the bunch, since I am a big fan of the melodic side of Metal, it'd be Killpop.

I have mixed views about slipknot. I certainly don't like listening to their full albums, many songs are repetitive and simply uncreative instrumentally and lyrically wise. The bright side is that some individual songs sound good and catchy - I like Duality, Sulfur, Psychosocial and Wait And Bleed, to name a few. The new song The Devil In I is catchy as well. I wouldn't buy an album from them though, not a good metal band.
