I searched to see if a thread for the band existed already. I could not find one so hopefully there truly isn't one. I hate making duplicate threads. Pain in my ass...
Any of you turds here dig the band or not? I think they've become a pretty good band compared to when they first started out. Lot of growth from the 1994 Burn My Eyes release, to the most recent Unto The Locust of 2012. There have been mixed feelings about this band since their inception in 1991. They've been labeled nu-metal before, but more for their 1999 The Burning Red release, as well as their 2001 Supercharger release...I'd even say The More Things Change album too. Personally. They're a favorite metal band of mine. Robb Flynn certainly whined a lot about his real parents that orphaned him back in the early days of the band. But at least the music accompanied with the angst laden lyrics was good enough. Have you any thoughts on the band? A few videos of theirs to become familiar with them. Old from Burn My Eyes. I always thought this album had a big Pantera influence to it. Overall, Machine Head have always had influence from Pantera. Ten Ton Hammer from The More Things Change. From This Day off of The Burning Red. Crashing Around You off of Supercharger. Imperium off of Through The Ashes Of Empires. This was the album where Machine Head really started to mature and refine their aggressive take on the Metal genre, taking a good amount of steps away from the more nu-metal sound of their earlier albums. Halo off of The Blackening. Probably my favorite album from the band, followed close by Through The Ashes Of Empires. Darkness Within off of their most recent Unto The Locust. |
