So many people argue that Tool and their music videos, music in general are just a bunch of randomness with no real point to them. But how the hell could that be true? Tool has always been a band, that to me have smart lyrics, smart music or videos in general. Compared to a lot of other bands like them. Tool make it a point to not just put a video out for the sake of having one.

I'm not exactly the world's biggest Tool fan (I like them and respect them though), but I think they've made some pretty great videos. People concerned with whether they have a "point" are ironically missing the point. Tool's videos are nightmares and they function on a visceral level that is much creepier than any old literal story.

Agreed.

I saw Tool in an arena in Portland about a year and a half ago I believe it was. They impress on a grand scale live. But you can tell Maynard has a slight bit of ware on his voice. Still sounded great though.

Tool gets some hate that isn't deserved. I mean sure, Maynard is right up there with Danzig for massive prick to fans, but dude's got one hell of a voice and what's wrong with every song starting as a bass line anyways?

Also regarding the increase of MB Metal activity... Let this thread be a metal discussion thread. Not posting songs, just discussion. I'm busy nowadays and not on as much as I'd like to be but if I just have one thread to check out when I'm bored, I know I'm more likely to contribute, and I'm sure many feel the same way.

Looks like we're off to a good start. Back to Tool.
