A7X is great band, very talented. Wait......extremly talented. Anyway, I have no problem with city of Evil, it's a "grand" CD, but I have never heard more than one of their old songs. Great band.

listen to stuff off of "sounding the seventh trumpet" and "waking the fallen". solid, solid albums.

this is the thing about A7X. they turned into *******s. they were awsome as **** back when sounding the 7th trumpet came out then waking the fall was just BLOW ME AWAY type ****. but the new album along with their new mentality towards music is just ugh. too glam-rock now. No screaming on the new album.... basically making them straight metal. Now they're all into straight metal riffs... no more hardcore punk anthems like "Second Heartbeat" it just kinda sucks. meh. wahtever... m. shadows is a douchebag... lost cause i guess.


for the record when they first came out they were AWSOME *devil horns for the old days*

the reason there is no screaming on the new album is because m shadows ruined his vocal chords by screaming so much. the band had to changed their style somewhat to compensate for this.

so sure, maybe waking the fallen was a better album than city of evil, but the way they compensated for shadows loosing his voice i think requires skill, and they did it nicely.

know about stuff before you bitch about it.

than M. Shadows (by the way lamest stage name ever) needs to stop crying about it. Bands who have been around 2,3,4 times as long are still screaming away.

I don't like them. The guitar while fun, is genric, the imagery boring, and the singing flat out bad. they are so full of themselves. after reading an interview with M. Shadows and Zacky Vengance (also a terrible stage name) in which they proceeded to call all things not Guns N' Roses and Avenged Sevenfold total ****, my dislike intensified. Maybe M. should stop ripping off Axl. I mean, if you're gonna copy someone, why not make it someone good.

Hey now how were my words wrong? is it the blind hatred? because i understand that... i get a wee bit loud when im talking about shaky musicianship at best. avenged is too righteous... like rise said.... i read in one interview with M. that he just isnt satisfied with 50000 copies of waking the fallen being sold... no... he wants 50 million.... so... yea the joined up with warner brothers and now they are totaly washed out. screw them... and M really cant sing... he's ALWAYS been pitiful... same for their guitarist while talented... they are very boring and generic... drawing on only their fashion sense to set them apart... they lack stage prescence as well... really now a7x is just another blaze poppy rock band. nothing special.

The old CDs were bad and the new one is even worse.

I like Avenged Sevenfold, they are a really good band. Their music and lyrics are meaningful in a kinda dark way and I think that M Shadows is a really cool guy..I'm interested about this point, some of you may know about it but apparently Atreyu and Avenged Sevenfold totally and utterly hate each other but if you had to choose between Atreyu and A7X, who would it be?

I was born in Savannah. Lived there for 3 years. Went back in 4th grade for another year. I've lived most of my life in Woodbridge, VA however, so thats my "hometown"

Shadows was having vocal troubles so they had to shift styles to go with his voice for now.
Better then no album at all.

^word to the word. they changed their sound, to go around it. but to the majority of poeple in this thread calling it a disgrace to metal because of their new sound, i think the new album was devoid of their hardcore influences more so than metal. sure theres a much more ample dose of pop, but the metal riffing is still very strong. i loved their new album, not as much as their older ones, but its still a solid release.
