Actually, their drummer needs to slow the **** down and make a decent beat. He isn't bad, but he's not that great. Listen to August burns red, that is a great drummer. Also, the lead singers name is shadows, and he has a ****ty whiny voice. His voice before the surgery wasn't bad, but now he just sucks. Synyster can play the guitar, i have to admit that though. If you say this band is the best in metalcore/hardcore, you , most likely need to expand your horizon. But hey, to each their own. don't usually call a band ****. This is one of the only ones i would call **** though, especially now days. lol

First, They are NOT metal core. I don't count them anywhere near that.
Second, The drummer is a GOOD drummer. They are so hard to come by with this stupid society being how it is with pussy drummers lining up to be in their own little bands. Third, Synyster is the lead singer, is quite interesting to listen to, even if it doesn't suit your ear. I can't honestly say I like Parkway drive, yet it's one of your favorite bands. It's a matter of opinion and personality. And my opinion is that this band has talent and likability, even if it's only with 50% of the listeners. |

parkway takes some listening to get to like them i think. They are more hardcore and don't sound like a typical metalcore band. What other metalcore do you listen to?

I don't listen to metalcore.
But I know what the genre is, and they are not metalcore. I usually end up not going by genre, but by style. I put them into a punk/general rockiness style gone classy(because yes, they do have a bit of class to them). Being so into classical music, I haven't got an ear to listen to most messy punk bands (The clash and some other bands being the exception.) You need structure to music, even if it's crazy structure. At least they have that. |

What is Metalcore and why is the word core attached to the end of this darn genre so much! arrrrrgh!
I just really enjoy Avenged Sevenfold's music... why waste time bothering to put into another one of these stupid "core" categories...

Actually the explanation of the term "metalcore" given on this board kinda makes some sense...although the whole"core" thing still sounds/reads awkward and still, in my opinion seems kinda pointless and like "classification for classification's sake"...
