I know I recommended a few last time, but for the life of me I can't remember what I did. So here are some of my personal favorites from over the years:

Chthonic - Seediq Bale
Megadeth - Rust In Peace
Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse

And I want to throw some new stuff at you as well.

Carcass - Surgical Steel
Pallbearer - Foundations of Burden

Those two are pretty far apart from each other in style, so if you want to ignore my other recs just do those two. I'd be interested to see what you think of either.
Added, though I have to tell you I hated "Heartwork".... it somehow mysteriously disappeared from Metal Month in 2013 but I still have the review if you want me to PM it to you. "RIP" I did in "Bitesize" but would be interested in going into in a little more detail, so that's cool. I seem to remember being pleasantly surprised by it.

Had you not given Megadeth the time of day before, or do you just not like them period?

The first. Just never got around to it.
Also, while you're here: "didn't review any proper death metal???" What about Morbid fucking Angel? Death? Napalm Death? Possessed? None of these count? I let my ears bleed for nothing????

I have no memory of this. You probably just threw on some Neil Sedaka and bull****ted your way through those reviews.

I know you're only joking, but for those who don't know me let me just state that no matter how bad it is, I would never bluff my way through an album. If I say I'm gonna listen to something I do: if I lose interest in it I write that in my review. It would be easy (maybe) to just not listen and then say oh yeah that was crap/great etc, but you all know I don't work that way. I listened to some --- what I would term --- pretty brutal and terrible music over that month, and will probably do so again (wait till you see who I'm featuring this year!); here are the links to jog your memory.

Death (Human) : http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...ml#post1371009

Morbid Angel (Heretic): http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...ml#post1371462

Possessed (Seven churches): http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...ml#post1371717

Celtic Frost (Monotheist): http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...ml#post1372400

Children of Bodom (Are you dead yet?) http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...ml#post1376639

I can provide more if you want (or you could just re-read the original Metal Month!) --- read those and then tell me I bluffed my way through. My bleeding ears say different!

This is a must as well. This is the best Folk/Pagan Metal (more specifically Anglo-Saxon Metal) album of all time, imo.

Just to let yaz know, as I prepare for Metal Month II, tomorrow I'll be beginning the reviews of the albums you guys suggested, or as many of them as I can. I said it was in order received, so tomorrow I'll be listening to at least "Blood mountain" by Mastodon, as recommended by Frownland.

As I listen to/review them I will post here but I won't tell anyone what I think of the albums: you'll have to wait till next month to read that in my journal. This will be just confirmation that your rec has been listened to, in case you think you're being ignored or that I'm just humouring you.

Thanks again!

OK guys, an update:

Any album in red has been listened to and reviewed. I'm trying to do three a day, so we'll see how it goes. In cases where one person has suggested more than one album, to be fair, I'm going to leave their second, third or fourth album until I have reviewed all the ones suggested by other people. If I have time I'll then get back to them in what I guess would be the second round.

Mastodon --- Blood mountain
Cavalera Conspiracy -- Inflikted
Sigh --- Imaginary sonicscape

Znowhite --- Act of God
Draconian --- Arcane rain fell
Cryptopsy --- None so vile
Dissection --- Storm of the light's bane
Arcturus --- La masquerade infernale
Mondstille --- Seelenwund
Urfaust -- Geist ist teufel
Gallowbraid --- Ashen elaidon
Conan --- Monnos
Metallica --- Load and Reload (Not sure if this was a rec or just in response to a comment Batty made?)
Reinxeed --- 1912
Forefather --- Steadfast
Finntroll --- Nattfodd

I'll try to update this each day.

Also, is anyone going to write anything for "What metal means to me?" (There should be a snappier title, but I can't think of one at the moment. Give me time, or suggest something...)
