All 91 did was effectively kill off two genres of popular music that was already in decline anyway - Thrash and Glam. A lot of Grunge was just about recycling 70's blues rock and getting emotional over it.

Every single decade of popular music from the 60's to the present will always give us some absolute crap and some absolute class and it's up to the listener and fan not the radio stations and media to sift through it to find the gems.
