Metal is kinda littered with ridiculous sub genres - it almost seems that every metal band is a new metal genre - either that or every seco nd or third metal bad belongs in a different genre...
Still, the number of sub genres in metal obscures when you look at electronic/dance music.... waaaaaaay too many sub - genres going on there....hehehehehehehe

Its possible to have alot of fun with those names...
Any one up for a bit of vikingcore, followed by samurai hardcore speed metal blues / rock anglo - fusion tribal slowcore death metal? .... sounds interesting...

Pantera was groove metal. Not to sound to technical or anything. There are entirely too many subgenres, though. We could make do with maybe 4-5, 1,000 is ridiculous.
