I use to enjoy thrash a lot more than anything else, but the generic thrash got old to me. I've moved into a death metal and a doom metal stage now. I'm starting to listen to some prog, but most prog bores me.

I'm guessing melodic death metal without any death?

And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that.

I think it was a like of little bits of each. Im the same, especially with Black metal. Im more into doom and thrash. Im fussy when it comes to Black metal, alot of it does nothing for me.

I'm a HUGE doom fan, listen to a lot of thrash and death aswell, I don't care for Black myself, either.

But, Black Metal > Death Metal, imo is why I asked.

a lot of people favor black metal over death metal. some would even say that death metal is rudimentary in form, and black metal's complexity and atmospheric passages make it a superior subgenre of metal.

Hmm, yeah were probably kind of similar in that sense. When I'm in the mood I ****ing love some death metal but Its a genre I havent quite fell in love with to the same extent as thrash and especially doom. I like very, very few Black metal bands, I keep expecting to hear some Black metal I love and it rarely happens.

But whatever, theres **** examples of metal no matter genre you focus on really.
