I guess I would lean more towards the classic/80`s metal artists.. Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, old Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer...

I agree, although I listen to pretty much everything metal wise, but I think people know my views on sub genre labels!

Grindcore sounds like metal to me, but I choose not to acknowledge most sub-genres so everything that has metal in its name or sounds like some form of metal is just metal to me.

Sorry. (No I'm not, I really don't care)

If I had to vote though, I too think Viking Metal sounds pretty rad.

or at least rad/stupid.

its a metal genre as well. If you think about it, its a literal hybrid of punk and death metal in which some bands are more punk while some are more death metal.

If you are telling me that Napalm Death, Pig Destroyer, and Carcass are not metal than there is something really wrong here.

grindcore - Information from Reference.com

I say grind is a punk genre. You say it's a metal genre. Let's save us both the trouble and agree to disagree.

Thrash. And it's spelled "Megadeth."
