This is just like what happened with PSY and Gangnam Style. Something that a country's industry has been doing for years suddenly goes global/viral. I don't understand why. K-pop was crazy for years before PSY and j-pop has been doing this kind of thing since the 80s. Maybe not this exact combo but it's hardly much different/more shocking as say, adult men dressed as 9-year old girls doing death metal.

Why does some stuff totally get on the radar when tons of other stuff flies below it for decades. As a side note, I'm not into Babymetal. Kind of bland for me.

The new album is somewhat disappointing to me based on one listen. Little blah overall. Will try again though.

Here's my theory on why, once sub cultures start to gain a little popularity they start to seep into the current pop culture. eventually most of the things you liked that were outside the mainstream culture will become a part of the mainstream culture.

I hate Psy but i like Baby metal and Band aid and all those weird asian groups. Im not gonna buy their album or anything but i'll see a couple of their videos.

The link to this one broke, but I had a pretty low opinion of them until I heard this one.
They sound so much better with the "clean vocals" being more subtle.
Reviving it cause it's worth it.

The "Death to false metal" crowd must be losing their ****, and for that, I am thankful, and this is indeed a very merry Christmas.
