So, I got Babymetal's album... and it's pretty great. Listened to it twice in a day which is rare for me. I doubt it's something I'll be listening to for years to come but it's fun weirdness that makes me feel like I'm living in a parallel dimension when I listen to it.

Pretty ****in cool! Not something I think I'd listen to, I just can't handle high pitched female vocals... like nails on a chalkboard to me... but if they had more instrumental tracks or at least along the lines of the second vid I would. And they're definitely impressive, something I'd pay to see live.
I kinda hate anime but seeing as Babymetal have a Dethklok sound to them and they're Asian... anime nerds may wanna check this out. Relevant to discussion I think. Good song too! |

It's funny you say that. I just gave BABYMETAL a listen and it felt like I was listening to heavy metal anime theme songs with a bunch of kawaii girls singing and striking poses. It's fun for what it is but not something I could continue listening to. I can't imagine taking a band with bunch of little girls singing J-Pop seriously.

Perhaps that was not phrased well. It was a response to the discussion of whether it should be taken seriously or not, and being just for fun, which I do agree with the later.

The funny thing is there is soo many animes that speak to alot of different audiences, for exmpl i don't like Metal i prefer alternative stuff, so instead of Watchin Detroit metal city i watched Beck, which is the story of this kid trying to learn how to play the guitar and start an alternative band To my surprise in my fav song of the series, the guy is wearing a Pixies shirt! (Only it's spelled P-I-X-I-S to avoid copyright infringement)

Yeah, I think you're thinking of anime porn. Cause the majority of anime I've ever seen all generally clings to the same boundaries. There are good ones, but in general anime is bound by the same kinds of corporations that rule pop music, Western TV, movies, blah, blah, blah.
