I'd call his style sort of rock-opera, really. He has a certain theatricality to his music. Nothing wrong with that of course, it's great fun to listen to.

I wouldn't call them nuts, but the bombastic rock opera of Meatloaf would interest a number of metal listeners. Bat Out of Hell is one of those albums that seems to be in every music collection anyway (the old vinyl ones)

Yes even I must admit that BOOH is in my collection but Meatloaf is not even close to being metal.
