John Paul Jones, because "The Lemon Song".

Cool ass bass.

Mainly due to their bass playing. But if you can't decide between either, than you can use their other musician qualities as a tie breaker.

I voted for JPJ and ITTOD is a good album. I definitely prefer zep to the who and both have done lots to contribute to music. But if you want to talk about a talented bassist only one name comes to my mind and that's Geddy Lee of Rush.

Actually many names come to mind which I will not start listing.

And good call on the lemon song. I have played in many bands with many bass players and few want to tackle that beast.

Personally, the most difficult Zeppelin bass lick to cover, by a MILE, is the chorus of The Immigrant Song. He plays seven full major scales in about as many seconds. It is a BITCH in the EXTREME to play.

I can see that, even though I've never touched a bass (I'm looking to buy a cheap one soon though). I love the bass from "The Lemon Song", though. Cool bass throughout the song.

Yeah, no singer really wants to touch that one either.

That's tuff, but I'm going with The Ox.
