I must have been f*ucked up last week..or something..

I meant that Eddie went all emo and drowned out his talent with old 50's covers..

Well firstly, I wouldn't say that Pearl Jam are particularly "similar" to Soundgarden and Alice In Chains at all. Pretty damn far apart in sound, really. Pearl Jam's sound is much more classic rock orientated than, well, pretty much all of the other Seattle-sound bands. S'garden and AIC were on the metal side of the grunge spectrum.

But yeah, Ten's the best place to start off with. Their new self-titled album is also probably their best release since the mid-nineties.

Default Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam

I'm sure most of y'all who got this self-titled album will agree with me about how awesome it is. This record has some of the best rockers in years on it, and some top quality slow tracks to boot.

My personal favourites are Life Wasted and Unemployable. I just LOVE these two songs.

What do others who have this album think of it, and what are your favourite tracks off it?

It's hard for me to get into the new Pearl Jam because 10 was one of the greatest Hard Rock albums ever recorded. It matched artistic success with commercial success. The whole thing plays like a greatest hits package. VS was a decent follow-up, but it was a very rapid decline for Pearl Jam after that. They just completely lost it and now it seems there only in it for the money.

Who cares what they're in it for. For one, that's impossible for anybody to really know except for themselves.

What counts is whether or not their music is any good. Not whether it's a groundbreaking artistic statement (just how many of them are there anyway?).

It is true that since Vitology Pearl Jam haven't been really up to scratch, but this new record in particular is by any fair standards a decent hard rock record.

Also, any SERIOUSLY high quality album should play like a greatest hits record.

For a start, I wasn't attacking Pearl Jam, hell, I love the band. What I said is that they dropped the ball AFTER Vitology, but with this new record they seem to be back in business.

Furthermore... well, actually that's all I had to say.

What do other people think about the self-titled album?
