New cd, nothin on ten or Vs but had this came out first, we'd all be sayin "Wow this band is awesome!" Great cd apart from 1 or 2 songs.

Actually, I even reckon that had bands like Nickelback come out first, before grunge etc., they would've been regarded as great and had huge cult followings.

If you recall, early on PJ were a very difficult band, media wise. They gave the press alot of attitude, and waged war against Ticket Master, and everyone else for that matter. Which was cool, but it detracted from their music, which resulted in lower sales. Now that they've hit rock bottom, they've pledged in recent press release to be "more cooperative". It seems to me they've become apologetic, in an attempt to resurrect they're careers.

I must disagree back in those days early in PJ's history it was all aboy the music hell they were in a movie called Singles in 1993 so they didn't completely push anyone away. Even to this day I've never heard an apoligie from anyone in PJ for their past actions so I can't agree with you there simply makeing great music even to this day, not for money or anything like that just for the music.:hphones:

Anybody, any band, and that means ANY, who are signed to a MAJOR label, are trying to make lots of money out of their music. That doesn't mean they're COMPLETELY in it for the money, but part of the reason for their being in the mainstream commercial music industry is so their product is marketed better and hence they make loads more money out of it than they would've done otherwise.

The idea that money is no motivation for such artists at all is among the most ridiculous, absurd things anybody could ever think.

never really got into pearl jam, i guess by the time they were making it big i was all tired out with that "seatle scene".

The album has way better songs than that. See if you can check out the track "Unemployable", or even "Life Wasted", somehow or other.

If you ever saw the movie Hype! Eddie was interviewed and he even talked bad about the mainstream and the big record companies on how ruthless they are trying to make you out to be something your not. How would you like the media and record labels makeing you out to be soemone your not, shoveing words down your throat, and haveing everyone hang around you every day, I sure don't.

And yet... they signed to a major label, stuck to a major label, and are still signed to a major label...
Hmmmmmm.

Signed to the label is way different than likeing the label.
