Default La-dee-la-dee-la, what's the name of the song?

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong sub-forum, but this question has been egging at my mind for the past long while.
There is this song, I'm guessing 70's/80's. It starts out with this progression which I found to be G, G/F, F/E, C/D# resolved to D.
It has a male low verse, can't remember any of the lyrics [which is half the problem], and then carries into a distinct fully falsetto chorus.
Towards the end of the song there is a guitar solo.

Help. Thank you! What is the name of this song, who did it? It's not the Beegees, but reminds me of their style. Thank you!
