thursday i went to see Opeth in Philly and they were sooooo amazing..

has anyone else heard of them/saw them live?

I haven't but I went to iTunes and previewed a couple of the songs. They're pretty good but a lil harsh for my tastes. Where did you see them? I used to live in the Philly area and it so sounds like a show at the Troc.

Oh god, I was supposed to see them last night, but I had to finish a history term paper... blech. They're amazing. (And their stuff isn't completely harsh - their singer does the shift from clean guitar and good singing to harshness and growling very nicely).

The did Blackwater Park right? If so then I like them alot, even though their songs are epics...but its still good.

Opeth is a great band, IMO. My favorite album by them is Blackwater Park. Best song has to be Bleak.
