also one of the first metal bands i got into, but after loving them for years i thought Ghost Reveries was ****... its put me off the rest of their stuff too. Favourites always have been Damnation and Blackwater Park.

Ghost Reveries isn't really my piece of pie... for some reason i don't really like the growling/screaming vocalist... so i'll just stick with Damnation, love it.

So is anybody interested in the new album, now that it's "out" and about?

If you want soft try Morningrise. If you want heavy than try Blackwater Park.

The new album is great.
First listen-you won't be impressed.
Listen to it a second time-Gets really interesting.

Favorite song-Hessian peel closely followed by The lotus eater.

I'll say it: this band have shown very little progress or expansion over their last what, 5 albums? I believe the new one is not much of a gigantic leap either. This band is a thorough disappointment.

Ghost Reveries might not technically or creatively be their best record, but it's my favourite of theirs simply for having the best melodies.
